So some how I formed a brunch/tai-tai club with a few gal pals from SNGS XD We hung out earlier at Le Chocolat Cafe, and now we are back for more! This time, we planned for brunch at Maison Ikkoku (:

[anibee] Ani-Music: Youko Hikasa

With the recent anime release of Shingeki no Kyojin (also known as Attack on Titan), you would have definitely heard her in the ending theme Utsukushiki Zankoku na Sekai (This Beautiful Cruel World)! This marks her first single release as Youko Hikasa (日笠 陽子).

But even before this anime, she has released several singles as K-On character Akiyama Mio, belting popular tunes such as Don't say lazy and Houkago Teatime (ranked #1 on Oricon album charts). Don't say lazy, in particular, was awarded Animation Kobe's "Best Song" award in the 14th Animation Kobe Awards. On a side note, check out Anibee ambassador Serene performing this song with her band, Panic Ducks!

In addition to singing, she originally started out as a seiyuu before branching into anisong. She has voiced several with various personalities, from the shy and sweet Akiyama Mio (K-On!) to outspoken and sexy Yukinokouji Nobara (Inu x Boku SS).

She is a member of the five-girl pop music group Ro-Kyu-Bu!, along with Kana Hanazawa, Yuka Iguchi, Rina Hidaka and Yui Ogura. The group takes its name from the anime series Ro-Kyu-Bu! as they voice main characters from the series.

More recently, she has recorded Owaranai no Uta (Song That Doesn't End) for Hal, an upcoming romance movie to be released on the June 8th. She will also release her first album tentatively titled “Yoko Hikasa Collaboration Album” on July 17th.

She still doesn't have a lot of singing experience yet, but hopefully she will gain more roles that are closely tied to singing such as K-On! or more opportunities to release singles! I am looking forward to more of her works ((:

[Lolita] Sleeping Beauty collection by Infanta

This was actually a tip-off from dollonstrings, who spotted this collection first XD Infanta comes out with a lot of print dresses, including the Red Riding Hood JSK which I wore for a photoshoot some time ago.

The Sleeping Beauty collection features a JSK, SK and two head accessories, a bonnet and a KC (Katyusha, or hairbow).

Heard from dollonstrings that not -anyone- can wear a bonnet, but I myself have no idea what the requirements are XD If you're worried, you might want to consider getting the KC instead.

Again, available in brown and the original colour. It's a pretty big bow which would not be so welcomed for a casual outfit, so matching might be limited if you're looking for accessories for casual Lolita wear.

OFRA Cosmetics

Sometime ago, I participated in a giveaway hosted by fellow blogger, Zongyi! She not only blogs, she is a freelance model and dances really well too! The giveaway was about OFRA Cosmetics, and I won the following:

I seriously didn't expect the full-size products to be so big, especially the BB cream and the Vitamin C Cleanser XD The package also came with a handwritten note from Zongyi (:

The sample foundation blends really well, leaving no streaks behind even when using my fingers to blend it. Too bad #5 is really dark for me. It will be good for a tanned look perhaps? XD

I will be trying out the BB cream for a few consecutive days to see how it works! Hopefully it will not give me more pimples >.<

[Lolita] Summer Collection by Dear Celine

Dear Celine is the brand which I bought my first Lolita dress from (^_^) I wore it for EOY 2012 and TAS 2013 so far. It is one of their older designs, which I like very much.

But today, I will be showing you their recent Summer collection! It features 2 types of blouses and one JSK.

DC Summer JSK

Coming in 5 colours (Purple, Lemon Yellow, Light Pink-Blue, Strawberry-Sakura Pink, Green which is already out), it supposedly resembles the pastel colours that come on snow cones or shaved ice XD

DC Baby Collared Shirt

They call it a shirt, but I think it's a blouse?

Available in four colours: Black, Purple, Pink and Baby Blue.

Available in Black (OOS), Purple, Pink, Mocha, White and Ingrain (生成色).

I like the buttons they used for this one. You can also tighten the waist area.

I like the detail at the back.

I personally do not like this collection very much except for the last blouse. >.< But even then, I'm not a big fan of baby collars. I do really like the pastel colours of this collection though!

[Event] Funan Anime Matsuri

I attended the last day of Funan Anime Matsuri! It was a pretty fun day, with many new friends and unexpected travels XD The event was pretty small and boring though :P

A word of caution: the 2nd half of this post has nothing to to with the event XD Though it does have something to do with Natumi, the guest cosplayer from Taiwan XD

 Decided to wear Lolita for the event, and not the wig because the day was so hot XD And with the after-event that happened, I'm really glad I didn't put on a wig haha! Had a pretty good vantage point with dollonstrings, who had an unfortunate experience of being rudely pushed around ._.

So I could still get pretty good shots from the side.

dollonstrings left halfway while I changed to a worse wantage point, but that's where the magic happened! Met K & and her friend (forgot name, sorry!) who were pretty amazed by Clive's coscard XD They even mentioned creating a gamecard template for coscards so that they could turn into into a game, since trading coscards was pretty common XD

Met D as well, who was cosplaying from Megaman series. Had some trouble with his gloves lol.

Caroline, Clive's wife whom I met that day, would keep peeking over and kindly update me about what was going on up there when Kaname was on XD Lots of fangirls!

Randomly got brought into a conversation, which was when I met W and J! Turns out W was Natumi's friend that she brought along for the event, and J was W's friend based in SG LOL. Since they had a bit of time to spare, I volunteered to bring them around! Event-goer-turned-volunteer-helper haha!

Brought W and J to Le Chocolat Cafe since Kki had ran out of cakes by the time we got there.

Spotted a really cool shop at Citylink Mall! Will be tempted to go again XD

Accompanied them back to the hotel where we waited for Natumi and her helper, E. E was really friendly and kind too! Added me on FB immediately when I met her haha! Was home pretty late, but with all the travels and experiences, I think it was pretty worth it! Thankfully I took leave today, seems like I'm down with a cold XD

(should have used my own cam ugh iPhone why you like that)

I am really blessed that I have met such kind and friendly people at every event I have gone to so far, whether or not I've been stationed to work there. Really really blessed to meet such amazing, passionate people who know how to prioritize their life. Also for very understanding family members who accommodate my crazy schedules.

...and I'm still not ready to face my results tomorrow XD Ganbatte NUS peeps!
