Reading piles of articles to be able to write papers for my modules, and my final year thesis (which is worth three modules) is really quite taxing OTL Not to mention that I still need to find a job ;_;
Nevertheless, I try to make my life interesting!
Recently concluded a concert with guest conductor Maestro Werner Pfaff and artistic director Ms Ai Hooi Lim. Singing is a part of my life, and I'm grateful to be part of the ONE singing family (:
Psst. We're auditioning!!
Celebrated some birthdays of my clique at Poteato at Yong Siak!
Truffle fries are awesome!!
Bangers & Mash
Louisana Pork Ribs (this wasn't too good, but the biggest portion of all mains we tried)
Salmon with Roast Potatoes (the best out of the mains we thought!)
Endorsed by Aaron Yan (炎亚纶), But, Becky is here to pamper you like a princess! But Becky has 5 types of masks for you to choose from:
- Vitality Soothing Lavender Mask
- Moist-lock Firming HA Mask
- Age-lock Moisturising Wild Yam Mask
- Pure & Whitening Job's Tears Mask
- Radiance Luminous Pearl Mask
I will only be reviewing the last one today: Radiance Luminous Pearl Mask, which I got from The Sample Store.
School life has slowed down a bit, and thus I am back online (if only for a little bit)!
I'm hoping to review more skincare/cosmetics as I go along the next few months with my new subscription to The Sample Store. 4 samples with a standard delivery fee of $5.99! Sometimes, you even get samples with zero delivery fee! It is great for trying out products without having the fear of spending a lot of money only to find out it doesn't work for you.
Or to try items you will buy later once you have the budget to (like the one today), assuming it works for you :P
For this skincare review, I will be basing my opinions on samples I received from The Sample Store. (*^^*)
- Skin repairing: Snail mucin is composed of chondroichin that permeates deep into the skin and prevents skin aging, improves skin’s elasticity, controls moisture level and helps skin cell regeneration
- High-moisturizing effect: contains hyaluronate, aloe vera leaf extract
- Improvement in elasticity, fine lines and expression lines: contains adenosine, a KFDA-certified anti-wrinkle agent + “peptides”, a topical botox
- Contains phyto-TF: plant-based thickening material, instead of synthetic polymers to provide a fresh and spreadable texture
I was really excited to try out this product because I always got dry patches of skin, especially on my cheeks.
The amount in each packet is rather generous. It's definitely enough to use twice a day. :D I quite liked how it wasn't painful when it came in contact with drying skin, unlike other moisturisers I've tried. Moisturising and skin repairing effects were seen around 30 minutes later, with all the dry skin gone and a smooth complexion! Definitely a product I can use as a quick fix.
How the product looks like out of the sachet.
There was a slight warmth coming from the dryer areas which worried me a bit because I thought it was a sensitive reaction O: Thankfully it wasn't! I have not tried other snail mucin products or looked at their prices, but I do feel that this is a pricey product, SGD $42 for 50g (price sourced from Qoo10), even if you only use a bit each time. I would not have bought this to try, if not for the sampling opportunity xD
I had received a $30 birthday voucher from Gyu-Kaku Restaurant earlier in January. Having had a great experience at the Gyu-Kaku at CHIJMES (now closed for renovations), I knew I had to use it before it expired xD Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to Facebook
Sorry for the lack of updates since 2014 started; it's been a hectic time managing my final semester commitments as well as new directions with music matters.
But here comes my first sharing of 2014! (^_^)
So over the weekend, I had this super wonderful opportunity to spend an afternoon with the all-kawaii Rainbowholic!! She's been an inspiration since I got to know her, and I was excited and nervous at the same time OTL
I took a rather long time to write this, definitely xD Been deleting and creating posts to write about this.
2013 has definitely been an awesome year. I have stepped out of my comfort zone in a way and have not looked back since.
2014 marks my last semester in university, so I think I will be spending more time offline (even though I already spend a lot of it offline OTL) to concentrate on my studies. Fret not, as I still want to share with my readers, all the lovely and kawaii events/things that I come across either locally, or when I attend overseas events. Mainly cafes, cosplay/anime events, J-culture events, and the occasional other lovelies ((:
Graduation = Trip!
Yep graduation trip is in its planning process! Any places in Taiwan any one would want to recommend?? :D
Come 2014, I will...
1. Learn how to play the guitar!
2. Be a better musician
3. Take JLPT!
4. Take lots and lots more photos
5. Be more disciplined (= exercise, study, work etc) 6. Love more, forgive more. Appreciate. 7. Always try to be fully in the moment.
On a side note, really thankful for the likes on my page!
Had the chance to book a slot with the cat cafe on the second day of its opening!! First day was Christmas xD I got through the 4th call for the booking.
We had planned to go after Mimi's photoshoot in some long forgotten place, but the rain delayed us. So, we were late for about 20 mins T.T But they only charged us for the remaining hour that we had booked for.
Before you go in, you have to wash your hands, read their cat cafe handbook for the rules, and you're ready to go! There's also FREE wifi provided, so you can post all the kitty photos you want, in real time xD
It was a rainy day, might be the reason why majority of the cats were sleeping?
The interior kitty play area
What I find really special about these cats is that they were all picked up from the streets - so they aren't specially groomed, pedigree-type cats.
Yes, I'm awake.
I thought that the play area and the kitchen was well-separated. The hot chocolate is pretty good!
Ordering drinks is a simple affair: check your receipt number, and go up to the counter to order it. When it's done, the staff will come and inform you (: The male staff who was in the play area that day (I'm not sure if the staff rotate) was really friendly and helpful.
Very pretty wall murals!
One thing is that they only accept reservations via phone calls, so call in early to make sure that you get your desired slots! All in all, this cat cafe is worth all the money for the one-of-a-kind relaxing experience that will change every visit. 11/10 (:
Even though we came on a Sunday, the cafe was not crowded as we had expected, so walk-ins are likely to be available. A little bit on the 'ulu' side because only a few buses go there, and if you miss one, the waiting time is about ~20mins OTL Thankfully there is more than one bus you can take, but all from different bus stops around Clementi xD
Because we were a large group of about 5-6 people, they gave us the 10-seater table xD
Some shots of the internal decor:
The lights above our table!
Lovely displays to entice you!
The cafe has breakfast available till 3pm on weekends \o/ I was really hungry though, so I ordered a main below:
Braised Lamb Shank Mushroom Panini, Salad ($13)
You can check out the rest of their menu on their website! If you want pictures, check out their FB! Look at the sample of foods you can get!
The food is good and decently priced, definitely a must-try! No GST charge, only 10% service charge (: Only thing is that there is no shelter from the bus stop to the bistro, so pack an umbrella, especially in this rainy December. (:
There was an artist decorating their windows when we were there, so you will be just in time to enjoy the Christmassy art :D
